Clinic RN - Surgery Prepare (6428dx)
Shift Hours:Full-Time 32 hours/week - Days (Monday - Friday varied start/end times between 7:45am - 5:00pm)
Responsible and accountable for providing quality professional nursing care to patients and their families and significant others adhering to the WI Nurse Practice Act, the Rules and Regulations of the WI Board of Nursing, the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the Code of Ethics for Nurses and Bellin Health Policies and Procedures. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide the best outcomes for the patient. Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged. Patient instruction/teaching via in person visit and/or phone, collaboration with Advanced Practice Clinicians for H&P and/or surgical optimization.
Wisconsin RN license required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required. The RN must complete their BSN within five years of the hire date. The Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived for existing Diploma and Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) RNs based on guidelines established by leadership. If the RN holds a Bachelor’s degree other than a BSN; requirements, again, will be determined by leadership. Effective teamwork, critical thinking and communication skills required.
RN experience preferred.
The Prepare clinic is a Bellin Specialty clinic specializing in Perioperative Medicine. Our team works with patients, surgeon and primary care teams to provide excellent care for the Bellin surgical experience. Improving and assisting patient health navigation prior to surgery provides a safer more successful surgical experience. Based on the patient’s current health and type of surgery, the patient may need a RN phone interview or an in-person Prepare provider medical assessment.
